Medical disclaimer

The information on chestpain.org.uk is general public information about chest pain, heart attacks and related conditions. It is not medical advice, and it can’t diagnose you or tell you what’s wrong. It doesn’t replace a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, paramedic or other health professional who knows your situation.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep the information accurate and up to date, based on published UK guidance (see our editorial policy). But medical guidance changes, and we can’t guarantee that every page is complete, correct or current at the moment you read it. The site is provided “as is”.

Our liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss or harm arising from use of, or reliance on, this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that can’t be limited under the law of England and Wales.

Tools that run on your device

Emergency mode, the Heart Card and the CPR pacer run in your browser. Information you enter stays on your device (see our privacy policy). You’re responsible for keeping your Heart Card accurate. Features such as voice, location, vibration and keeping the screen awake depend on your device and browser, and may not work on every phone.

Links to other websites

We link to other sites, such as the NHS and the British Heart Foundation, for further information. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content.
